The article compares distance learning practices in the United States and in the Russian Federation. A comparative analysis of the current trends in distance learning practices shows that these practices demonstrate a significant commonality. The authors attempted to forecast the future trends in distance learning.

This article is a continuation of the material [1]. It analyzes the Federal State Educational Standard and Exemplary basic educational program of basic middle education in inclusion some aspects on teaching the rules of safe online behavior. The analysis concludes that, despite the references in each of the individual aspects of the documents, one way or another relevant to the safety on the Internet, they lack clearly articulated expectations and clear recommendations on the necessary skills development. In addition, the recommendations apply only to that part of the risk, which, according to international classification, belongs to the category of content risks, ie, related to situations in which there is no active participation of the user. Furthermore, the documents do not provide continuity with respect to the elementary school.
