Information Asymmetry in Education

Аннотация / Annotation:
Article explores the information asymmetry in education. This article describes the different types of asymmetry: to inform, to the knowledge, competency, status. Article gives a definition of awareness. This article describes the qualitative and quantitative methods for assessing asymmetry. It is proved that in the formation of certain types of asymmetry are natural and are eliminated in the learning process. Other types of asymmetry in education are the negative consequences and they need to be addressed. Article gives recommendations for reducing information asymmetry.

The article summarizes the experience of distance learning technologies in teaching chemistry subjects in classical and technical universities. It is shown that, for the designated target groups, objectives and characteristics of learning, the most suitable organizational model of learning is so called “blended learning”.
