How Foreign Students Choose Russian Universities

Аннотация / Annotation:
The export of Russian education is complicated by modern geopolitics. The reorientation to Asian markets entails some changes in the Universities’ communication policy. As a result of the author’s study, it was revealed that the level of interstate relations is one of the key positive factors that influence the Chinese and Vietnamese when they choose a university. Based on results obtained, recommendations have been formulated for the content for interaction with audiences from China and Vietnam.

Modern approaches to calculating the number of teaching staff rates in a higher educational institution

The article examines approaches to calculating and distributing a limited number of teaching staff positions between the structural divisions of a university, in proportion to a number of criteria that allow for a numerical assessment of their «significance» in various aspects. In particular, the number of students, the number of full-time teachers, inter-faculty teaching load, and the rating of the structural unit are taken into account.

The article presents the results of a qualitative study that allows us to establish the factors of formation of professional identity of students. It was established that the symbolic interpretation of the profession in students’ assessments is of a dual nature. On the one hand, students quite clearly demonstrate a high level of awareness in understanding the social significance, responsibility, and prestige of municipal service. On the other hand, negative associations were expressed, such as «bureaucracy», «routine», and «corruption risks».
