Applying the method of comparative historical analysis, the author examines the axiological aspects of professional pedagogical activity: features and key elements of transformations on the example of educational theories and practices from the 19th century to the present. According to the results of the study, the conclusions are made that the process of orientation of a person in the space of pedagogical activity in the context of the axiological paradigm of education is impossible without guidelines for the values of society and the values of the profession.
