Approaches to setting a nature of laboratory work as one of main types of activity at a university and a laboratory method of pedagogic diagnostics related to laboratory work are conisdered in the article. As a leading function of a laboratory method there is a correcting one; an ability of implementation of this function is illustrated on the basis of a laboratory work in mathematics.

The article covers such a form as innovative activity of universities as master programs in English; specifics of these programs, their role and meaning in internationalization of a network are charecterized; main instruments of quality management for master programs in English are enlisted; comparision with European countries in costs and thematic approach is conducted. It is shown that master programs in English can change an image and management of a university (The University for Peoples’ Friendship’s experience) and can be channels of new abilities for training and employment in Russia and abroad.
