Crisis of Humanities in Higher Education

The article highlights the problems associated with the growing crisis in the field of humanities, connection of the crisis with the labor market and the employment of young specialists in the United States and Russia. The main reasons for the crisis lie in fact that students choose “practical” specialties; the reduction of funding and staff positions at universities; the discrepancy between graduates’ skills and the requirements of the non-academic labor market.

The paper details the methodological perspective of linguodidactics and glottodidactics in alignment with contextual research and the interpretivist paradigm. Topical classifications of the roles of an ESP lecturer, which are reduced to the comprehensive notion of a language practitioner, are systematized. Attempts to understand the significant contexts of personality development of an ESP lecturer are presented.

Russian Language in Professional Adaptation: Perception and Self-Assessment of Medical Students from the People’s Republic of China

The article investigates the self-assessment of Russian language proficiency among Chinese medical students in their second and third years of study. Based on an anonymous survey, the difficulties in mastering various language aspects (speaking, listening, grammar) are analyzed. The study reveals that students face significant challenges due to typological differences between the languages and socio-cultural factors. Based on the results, differentiated methodological recommendations are proposed to optimize the educational process at different stages of learning.

The article analyzes the cognitive features of generations Z and Alpha in modern education. It is shown that the main contradiction lies in the fact that the existing education system based on the Komensky in-line learning system, even complemented by the possibilities of digitalization and artificial intelligence, does not fully meet the possibilities of assimilation of educational content. The ways of cardinal transformation of the education system adapted to the new generation of society are discussed.

Special attention is paid to the emotional aspect of the teaching blogger as an external manifestation of their emotional intelligence. It is worth noting the teacher’s conscious use of nonverbal and verbal emotive components contributes to increasing students’ motivation, reducing their language anxiety, and establishing trusting pedagogical interaction.

Effective methods of memory activation while foreign language training of prospective specialists

Recommendations are given for teachers who are interested in better training of a competitive specialist for the economy of the Russian Federation.
