Under the conditions of digital culture, changes in the higher education system naturally occur and, first of all, they affect socio-cognitive aspects. The task of modern research is to identify new manifestations of the essential laws of higher education and to see their possible negative manifestations for the timely development of prevention and leveling mechanisms.

Functions of polycode scientific texts as a basis of abstract writing skill formation to non-philological students

The article is dedicated to the polyfunctionality of the scientific polycode texts, which determines their characteristics and affect the process of creating primary and secondary texts by non-philological specialists. A typology of functions of scientific texts has been suggested. The paper presents the correlation of the functions of scientific polycode texts, their characteristics and précis writing skills, which are supposed to be mastered by non-philological students in the process of learning a foreign language.

The results of the study are presented, which have demonstrated the positive dynamics of the growth of empathic ability when using the above technology.
