Posthumanism is a set of theoretical approaches in the social sciences aimed at revising the dominant view of the relationship between human subjectivity and non-human. In the context of pedagogy, posthumanism opens up new learning opportunities. The article discusses the advantages and risks of a posthumanistic approach to education. In particular, the use of digital technologies is accompanied by a wide range of ethical issues, and also requires rethinking the role of the teacher.

The paper analyzes the current trends in the development of domestic higher education, their adequacy and effectiveness to modern realities. There is a high content in the current strategies of the ideological premises of liberalism of the 90s. The necessity of correcting the general course, goals and mechanisms of development of domestic higher education, taking into account the current agenda, is substantiated. Certain steps in this direction have been proposed. The role of differentiation of university development strategies is emphasized.

The article deals with the problems of professionally oriented education associated with an insufficient level of students’ motivation to study a foreign language. Based on the survey conducted, the ranking levels of motives for learning a foreign language are determined. These motives are presented in five categories: communicatory, communicative, professional, social, educational and cognitive, as well as motives of prestige. Pedagogical recommendations which can help students to master a foreign language more effectively have been proposed.

The study showed that without special support of cadets, their involvement in project activities is not effective enough. The algorithm of inclusion of students in project activities determined by adaptation, professional identification, competence (creative) stages is substantiated.
