Sources of a problem of individualization of education in a secondary school are specified. A system of conditions (procedural, content, and managerial conditions), which are necessary for individualization of education, is set. Specifics and limitations of traditional forms of individualization of education in practice of general education are considered. It is stated that non-frontal systems of education are a mechanism of support of full individualization of education.

Author’s view on individualization of an educational process at a university is reasoned in the article. A concept ‘individualization’ is specified. A role of situations of choice, which can be created in educational and scientific work of students, is shown. Experimental work on constructing and implementing of situations of choice for students conducted in Taganrog State Pedagogic Institute in the name of A.P.Chekhov is described. Experimental data confirming that a student in a situation of choice has got creative relation to reality, more serious self-concept and experience of independent decision-making.

The article covers e-learning technologies in education in the Russian Federation. Advantages and disadvantages of e-learning technologies are given in the article; types and components of e-learning are considered. As an example experience of Russian universities implemented this tecnology as supplement to extramural education are represented; there are laboratory in these universities developing e-learning courses. The author concludes that e-learning is a good supplement to a traditional education, application of e-learning can increase effectiveness of education and quality of students’ training.
