Differentiated geometric and graphic training of future geologists is described in the article. As an effective mean of training a model of context profession-oriented educational environment the core of which is theoretical fundament of geometry and engineering graphic is proposed. The environment is an integral complex of a structure and is a dynamic, flexible in components and open structure for various innovations and improvements; it acts as one of first sources of professional experience of students.

Important parameters of modernization are increasing results of educational and research activity of students, development of educational methods.
