It is necessary to get rid of stereotypes preserving out-of-date patterns of managing processes going on in a higher educational institution. Perfection of the management is most often a contradictory, complicated practice of working out and introducing new stereotypes, which is accepted differently by different people.

Annotation. Article considers the problem objective need radical renewal of theoretical and methodological base of education based on competence approach as the main strategic directions in innovative pedagogy and practice to improve the quality of education. Based on the new law on education and GEF, article considers the content of competence determining its logical structure and importance for improving the quality of education due to, on the one hand, the professional competence of the modern university teachers, on the other hand – the formation of students’ competence in the educational process, including personal, professional and social aspects; justifies assessment criteria of education quality: the need-motivational, cognitive, practical-activity, emotional and volitional and value-meaningful.

At this article the author analyses some problems connected with the preparation of specialists of pharmaceutical industry. One of these problems has evolved form the absence of modern professional standards, having a scientific explanation. There are no any descriptions of labor in the professions, called description of specialists. Today the content of the pharmacist profession has changed. Pharmacists have to fulfill the role of a doctor. It requires the highest level of professional responsibility. The other problem is that the level of training the pharmacist profession is contrary to the requirements of the labour-market. The author of the article proposes to unite the efforts of psychologists and teachers to solve existing problems.
