The article is devoted to the issues of pedagogical support in the process of foreign language training of adult students who are experienced specialists. The analysis of the skills possessed by people aged 35+ and the possibility of their use in linguodidactics are fulfilled. Pedagogical conditions on motivation of adult students are proposed with the idea that its implementation can contribute to actualizing communication skills in a foreign language training while effecting professional activity.

Since 2003, the world university system has been developing in the context of public assessment of activities within the framework of university rankings. Rankings are being transformed into a tool that characterizes the effectiveness of universities. Despite the existing disagreements over the rating systems, many universities are formulating strategies aimed at adapting to criteria and indicators and improving their rating positions. The positions of universities in the rankings are determined by state management decisions.
