Approaches to Teaching Students of the Digital Generation

The main three approaches to teaching students of the digital generation have been highlighted. The first approach requires a new educational model that corresponds to a unique digital style of teaching. The second approach denies the necessity to change the education model that suits the supposed, but not proven specifics of students of the digital generation. The third approach involves adapting teaching style towards the characteristics of students of the digital generation. Within the framework of the third approach, the key priorities in teaching students of the digital generation are considered, taking into account their characteristics.

The Principle of Translation Adequacy and Its Significance for the Methodology of Teaching Foreign Languages

This article discusses the translation, its adequacy to the original and ways to achieve it. From the point of view of the methodology of teaching foreign languages, two practical conclusions follow from the formulation of the concept of «adequacy of translation» proposed by the authors: the first one is about the importance of a deep objective analysis of the linguistic features of the original (lexico-semantic and grammatical) in their unity and inseparable connection with the content, according to in relation to which their stylistic functions are determined, and the second one is about the need to find full-fledged linguistic means for transmitting the original in the native language.

The chronotope house and the image of a real house, which is more like a spatial picture of life in real history, is still more evident in the literature of northern writers.
