The article discusses the problem of analyzing the quality of training and assessing the final result of training at the level of secondary general education and higher professional education. By the example of the formation and development of universal communicative competence, the problem of determining an indicator by which one can determine the level of this competence is identified. A universal indicator has been proposed and justified - translation from a foreign language into Russian and vice versa.

Dialectical-Transformational Approach to the Problem of Creating a Textbook on the Foreign Language Teaching Methodology

The article is devoted to the consideration of the problem of updating/creating a textbook on foreign language teaching methodology. The author’s vision of the problem solution from the position of consistent explication of the components of the dialectic-transformation approach is offered. On the basis of the analysis of the main categories of the approach it is revealed that in the centre of transformations of the textbook is the teacher’s personality, its value orientations, thinking processes, properties, abilities, qualities. The methodology textbook as the main means of training a future teacher of a foreign language should teach methodologically competent thinking in order to determine the most acceptable linguodidactic strategies.
