METAPHORIC REPRESENTATION OF THE CONCEPT “TERRORISM” IN THE ENGLISH TABLOIDS TEXT

Аннотация / Annotation:
The article illustrates the author’s take on terrorism studies and eventual counter-terrorism by applying metaphor analysis to the British tabloid «The Sun» texts on terrorism of 2001–2005. It identifies four conceptual metaphors labeling terrorism as a war, a crime, out-of-civilization barbarism and as an untreatable illness and shows how such an interpretation of terrorism makes certain counter-terrorism policies such as a military response or judicial measures acceptable while excluding other options such as negotiations from being considered.

The effective communication is established with it in society. Principles and methods of imaging using communicative design dominate in the process of educational design practices with students. It’s author’s visual effects, iconic codes. In this regard, we believe that the social importance of communication and semantic features of communication design is not fully disclosed. The teacher conveys his knowledge through the instrumental – symbolic and aural communication technologies. Mutual understanding should exist between participants in the process of information transfer. Adequate concepts and terms required for the increasing complexity of educational technologies.
