An analysis of the possibilities of harmonizing disciplinary approaches in the process of training future engineers was carried out. A survey of experts aimed at identifying the problems, prospects and potential of STEAM education showed that progress in the field of technological education can be stimulated by the development of transdisciplinary scientific works and projects, convergent technologies, as well as the practice of solving real problems through the joint efforts of specialists from various professional groups.

The article considers the problems generated by the unified state exam as the only form of state final certification in the country for educational programs of secondary general education and admission to higher educational institutions. The information of the education authorities of the federal, regional and municipal levels on the levels of education of each of the school graduates in the main subjects of study is analyzed. The issues of expediency of introducing the Unified State Exam are raised. The possibilities of the Unified State Exam as a tool for managing the process of improving the quality of secondary general education are presented and ways to solve problems are proposed.
