Abstract: A system of working with intelligent gifted children in Abakan is represented in the article. Innovative forms of work with gifted children are described. An analysis of schools pupils’ achievements on Abakan-city’s intellectual contests, competitions, scientific conferences are shown.

Annotation: This article covers one of methods of actualization of interdisciplinary integration, which is based on an evolutionary process of teaching students to solve engineering tasks within the context of professional-oriented educational environment. Training of mining engineers to solve real engineering tasks in mining and geological site practice are represented on a special case demonstrating new geometric and graphic techniques of teaching.

The system of elite techincal education has been implemented in Tomsk Polytechnical University since 2004. This system provides conditions for development personal and interdisciplinary competences for students of technical specialties. Re-engineering of this program is conducted in the article in accordance with international CDIO Syllabus standards based on a competence-oriented approach. Recomendations for implementation of an advanced program into an educational process are given.
