The article deals with the problem of personal preparation of students for professional work, in particular education such traits as tolerance. For students of tolerance is the key to success in the future professional activity. Activities of the first psychological laboratory under the direction of G.I Chelpanova is a unique example of development of personal tolerance. The article highlighted how the development of tolerance among students of psychology.

The article presents the analysis of ways of formation of cognitive maps of modern Russian drivers and the empirical results of testing a modification of a technique of teaching of the course «Psychophysiological bases of activity of the driver» by filling the cognitive maps of the future driver data about their individual psychological and psycho-physiological characteristics that reduce the risk of an emergency. The study involved two groups of students from two schools (48 in the experimental group and 39 in the control). The total sample was 87 people (49 male and 38 female).

A Comparative Study of the volitional qualities of personality in youth age.

This paper presents the results of empirical comparative study of the level and structure of strong-willed personality qualities in men and women. It has been found that such volitional qualities as endurance and attentiveness among men is much more pronounced than that of women. Nevertheless, the identity of the structural organization of the system of volitional qualities of personality was established among girls and young men. The reasons for this is that most people try to follow the social stereotypes of the «real men» and the «business woman».

The results of empirical study of two structural components of professional identity model (PI) of the teacher – “philosophy of the profession” and “professional knowledge”. Comparative analysis of the content and the components of correlations in the general model of PI made on the material of the two samples: the teachers of Smolensk and Riga high schools (198 teachers). The findings argue in favor of the hypothesis of the model PI teacher relate similar and different elements in the PI of the two samples indicates its problem areas.

The process of social-psychological support in the professional skill competition has been analyzed. The empiric data on the display of professional non-contextual thinking, seen as a process and the result of professional development, and its metacognitive characteristics at the stage of «Case» i.e. online counseling under severe time constraints, are presented. It is proved that while an educational psychologist is solving simulated problematic situations, the conditions for metacognition integration are formed.
