The article deals with a number of problems related to the prestige loss of the national science abroad, falling the rate of funding science and innovative inventions, the difficulties in recruiting and training personnel for the national scientific and innovative sphere in the condition of systemic education modernization and the reforming scientific institutions. Only the desire to activate mechanisms and instruments of state support the science and innovation, including the level of the business sector of the economy is declared.

Аннотация / Annotation:
The authors in the article analyze the phenomenon of adolescent drug addiction and its prevention, taking into account socio-economic and cultural-historical conditionality. For this purpose, the essence of drug addiction, social and psychological characteristics of drug dependence in adolescence and their prevention are clarified. A vast amount of new data on the prevention of addictive behavior in the educational establishment and outside of it is being introduced into scientific circulation. For effective systemic work on the prevention of drug addiction among adolescents, a program and practical recommendations have been developed and tested to improve the effectiveness of psychological and pedagogical prevention of the acute social phenomenon among adolescents.

The article presents a comparative analysis of the data of the requisite part of the questionnaires of Latvian and Russian respondents (N= 631), who took part in the Russian-Latvian project of studying the professional identity of the teacher. Highlighted common features representative of the characteristics of the modern educational community of the two countries, in light of the marked differences and the problematic areas of educational systems. It is revealed that in both countries official statistics on the pedagogical community are incomplete and contradictory, especially in the field of General school education, which indicates the need to improve the methods of collecting statistical information.

The aim of this study is to examine the dynamics and structural characteristics of the scientific activity motivation system psychophysiological states (fatigue, monotony, sedation, stress), emotional burnout of the individual in the process of defending doctoral (first and second degree). The sample of our study comprises 34 dissertators who were in the process of thesis defence. It was demonstrated that the thesis defence is one of the strongest professional stress in scientific work.
