Basing on the results of long-term theoretical studies, experimental pedagogical practice, experience of development and approbation of original methodology, the author formulates the main principles of diagnostics of artistic creative giftedness as one of generic human abilities, potentially inherent to any child, while emphasizing the specific character of area of research and diagnostics. The main principles of diagnostics in this area are: domination of quality, expert approach over objective-measuring; prioritized attention to potential of child’s artistic development instead of his current achievements; necessity, when creating the methodology that would be adequate to the subject of diagnostics, to simulatethe task that would be essentially similar to this of a «real» artist, while minimizing the meaning of special skills or lack of such; and some others.

Dynamics of students’ motivation in the process of professional socialization

The article substantially analyzes the dynamics of changes in the structure of academic and professional motivation of students at different stages of professional socialization at an institution of higher education. It presents the results of the empirical investigation, which was carried out on a sample of Bachelor’s degree students (1-4 academic year) from Saratov State University named after N.G. Chernyshevsky (n = 128). It is shown that at all stages of professional socialization social and psychological personal orientations are expressed in the structure of students’ motivation. Dynamics of changes are manifested through strengthening of internal motivation in academic and professional activity of students from first to third academic year, where “self-actualization in academic activity – motivation of approval” is predominant, while during the fourth year the emphasis of motivation is shifted from academic activity to future professional activity. The applied aspect of the problem under study can be used in the educational process of higher education, as well as in psychological and pedagogical support of students’ personal and professional development.

Subjective well-being and ethno-cultural characteristics of personal of contacting ethnic groups

The article presents the results of theoretical and empirical investigations of manifestations of ethno-cultural characteristics in the structure of personal subjective well-being of the representatives of contacting ethnic groups. The study was done on proportionally selected samples of representatives of Russian and Armenian ethnic groups living in the city of Saratov (N=70, males and females; median age 25,5, SD =10,69) with application of the following psycho-diagnostic tools: «Types of ethnic identity» questionnaire (G.U. Soldatova, S.V. Ryzhova); «Scale of subjective well-being» (М.V. Sokolova); «Level of social frustration» techniques by L.I. Vasserman; Cultural values scale by G. Hofstede. We identified variability in manifestation of parameters of subjective well-being. Ethno-cultural characteristics of the group act as grounds for differentiation of variability. The applied aspect of the problem under study can be used in the development of the programs of psychological cooperation for optimization of personal psychological well-being.
