Conclusions about the competence of specialists are formulated.

The article raises the issue of Grand Prince Ivan III’s policy towards Pskov in the second half of the 15th century. Using the example of the conflict of the 1470s that arose between the Pskov people and the governor of the Grand Prince Yaroslav Vasilyevich Obolensky, the author shows the strategy of the tsar of Moscow. While preserving the independence of his homeland, Ivan Vasilyevich changes the Pskov «antiquity» to Moscow, thereby gradually introducing Pskov into the united Russian state.
