The results of a sociological research of processes of individual professionalization of representatives of the generation of 1990ies are represented in the article. Theoretical fundamentals for conducting a sociological research are understanding of ‘professional self-actualization’ and sociological representation ‘symbol’. 934 respondents from nine professional associations took part in a research. Great attention is paid to conditions of professional self-actualization of representatives of the generatioon of 1990ies and a degree of influence of cultural and symbolic concepts on young people in selecting professional activity.
