The article discusses social and educational strategies of students arriving to study in Metropolitan University. Examines the principles of social communication when choosing a school, finding accommodation, finding work for income, educational and future professional strategies. Four types of adaptation strategies according to these indicators. It justifies differentiated strategy of the University aimed at the optimization of adaptation strategies with the aim of improving the quality of education.

In the article the authors share the experience of teaching legal disciplines for students of non-legal training courses. There are given examples of solving tasks of different levels of complexity and directions of educational activity. In spite of a small number of lectures in the course of a thoughtful presentation of material, the students are formed such competencies as readiness for professional activity in accordance with normative legal acts, readiness for interaction with participants in the educational process, etc.

The author proposes to increase the communication training of the teachers and command staff officers within the specialized course, in the professional training and in the process of self-education.
