Governmental and non-governmental universities: productivity of competitiveness

Аннотация / Annotation:
The article deals with a number of issues concerning the role and place of non-governmental universities in the Russian system of higher education. The private sector’s position is defined by the absence of competitive environment which puts the development of the non-governmental sector of the educational system in unequal conditions. In this context several arrangements are suggested that are aimed at establishing equality between universities of different foundation types and thus at implementing global trends in the field.

Employment and employmentness of university graduates of Russia: past and the present

Problems of a ratio of employment and employmentness of graduates of the Russian higher education institutions during the Soviet and Post-Soviet periods are considered. The employmentness assumes the accounting of preference trained before their receipt in higher education institution; development of analytical thinking, ability to structure information and arguments during training; readiness to adequate behavior in labor market of university graduates. It promotes their successful growth in the chosen profession and expansion of prospects already at employment in what employers and society in general are interested.

Process of socialization of students in the period of learning in higher education allows them to accumulate human capital through the development of formal and informal structures of the organization of University life. Formal evaluation of the amount of human capital are reflected in the diplomas of the graduates. Knowledge and social experience of students beyond the classroom through electoral participation in University life, partly reflected in the summary in the period of employment of graduates , and to a greater extent on the level of informal assessment that can be measured with the use of sociological methods, for example, the method of survey.

Migrants’ children in western europe: the situation in education and social issues

The article deals with the problems of learning, adaptation and integration into the European society of migrants’ children. Attention is drawn to the difficulties, barriers and problems of the process associated with a number of social contradictions and conflicts. Particular attention is paid to issues such as socio-cultural adaptation of the migrants’ children, learning the language of their host country, their integration into the host society, overcoming racial dislike, interacting with students and teachers, as well as local residents. The classification of the main problems (difficulties), faced by migrants’ children, is given. On the basis of the use of sources, presenting the results of research in the EU is actively taking migrants’ children are given recommendations for the successful solution of the problems of learning and adaptation.

A formula in the sociology

Article discusses the importance for applied sociology of a formula, that linking in quantitative form, the result of the multifaceted activities of University teachers (and more generally – any creative worker with two common characteristics: the index of the leadership achievements of the teacher in the most successful direction) and the harmony index (degree of versatility, balance his work), that derived by G. Danilov. There given the interpretation of formula with the positions of synergetics, and provides empirical confirmation in the form of statistical charts, detecting the effects of bifurcation and hysteresis. It is also shown that this formula may be the basis for building rating systems of universities.
