Social Aspects of University Building within the Context of Global Problems of Higher Education

Аннотация / Annotation:
Actuality of development of university of a new type is based on deep social trasformations arisen in the end of 20th – beginning of 21st centuries. Foreign and Russian experience of social building of universities, which are able to provide qualitative higher and supplementary education for the masses, is put into practice in mega-universities – the largest universities of distance education. Practice of Russian mega-university, the Modern University for the Humanities, where more than 140,000 students from all regions of Russia, the CIS countries, and foreign countreis such as Turkey, Greece, etc., study, represents new abilities and challenges for solving social problems in higher education.

Necessity of consideration and investigation of education from the point of view of such a characterstic as culture is reasoned. Interaction between education and culture as its content ‘core’ an a definite vector of development is shown. Special features of culture of main subjects of education a society as a whole and educational institutions, teachers and pupils are etermined. Ratio between such concepts as culture of education, pedagogic culture, professional and pedagogic culture, and culture of professional and pedagogic activiy is represented. Necessity of determination and investigation of relations between two branches of a sociology: sociology of education and sociology of culture, and seacrh for their integration are expressed.

Social Methods of Influence on Behavior of Electorate

Processes of interaction and influence of social factors, including an educational one, and special features of behavior of Russian electorate are analyzed in the article. A problem of development and implementation of social mechanisms of infleunce on behavior of electorate is considered. A phenomenon of absentism in Russia is investigated, main ways of negotiating and further preventive measures for an account of changes within the system of education are set.

The authors discover the genesis of Economic psychology as an academic subject in Russia and worldwide highlighting the interdisciplinary aspect of the issue. They prove the necessity to legalize the subject as a separate scientific discipline in Russia and analyze the sociological accompaniment of subject implementation to the educational program of the Saint-Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance. The authors offer the program for the independent university course, describe the role of this course in improvement of the quality of higher education for such majorities as managers, economists, financiers, who are decision makers, think strategically and do take the risks.

Experimental data of analysis of a conflict situation at a university are given, abilities of their prevention are reasoned, and methods of constructive conflict management through their reforming from destructive to constructive conflicts are characterized. A distributed university can enable to develop effective managerial decisions through optimal combination between educational and training functions, influencing on socialization of students and developing their tactics of conflict resolution.
