Moscow Sphere of Education: a Professioanl Inside View based on the Results of a Sociological Research

Materials of a sociological research, which attracted about 34,000 respondents and was conducted in September-November of 2012 by the Department of Sociology of Moscow State Linguistic University by the order of teh Department of Education of Moscow-city within the frameworks of implementation of a state program of Moscow-city at medium term (2012-2016) ‘Development of Education in Moscow-city’ are considered. The results of an analysis of expert estimation of actual parameters of modern state of an educational sphere of the capital.

The data of the research enable to investigate such issues as: dynamics of professional career of graduates; estimation of their education; opinion about tendencies of development of science and education, strong and weak components of education on a faculty. And their proposals on improvement of education.

A capacity of students in a university supporting physical training lessons is 10 times higher than in a country as a whole. 2/3 of state universities utilize their own means for developing sport infrastructure but not less than 80% of them have budgetary (federal or regional) assignments for this puprpose. But at non-state universities we can see another picture; they use their own means, non-budgetary and sponsor investments; there are a few non-state universities having budgetary assigenment for developing their sport facilities.

Absolutization of one personal (material) success in modern Russian society, especially among young people is followed by limitations in self-actualization and unsatisfaction. Life success and full self-actualization exist in those cases, when material wealth is in combination with positive influence on other people, social groups and a society as a whole. A typology of forms of life success is based on combination of a personal success and social cognition.
