Mass education as a developing system: content and form

The article shows that the system of mass education under new conditions should be ensured not by the construction of new foundations for campus universities, but by the introduction of fundamental innovations based on modern achievements of science and technology, in particular, distance education technologies and e-learning that enrich the content and improve the form of educational activity.

Аннотация / Annotation:
Based on the demographic data given the forecast of dynamics of the number of students in Russian universities. It is shown that the share of students in recent years has declined. To achieve the requirements of the knowledge society to the level of education of its citizens, needs an annual increase in the number of students in higher education. After experiencing a period of demographic decline, higher education will face increased demand that can be satisfied through a network of distributed universities that implement e-learning.

Distribution of the Russian regions on the formal indicators of scientific personnel training

Today the rankings processes are covered many aspects of social life. The scientific and educational activities is no exception. The article presented the Russian regions distribution on the formal indicators of training of scientific personnel. The regions and cities ranked on the number of dissertation councils and on the number of awarded doctoral and master’s theses in 2015. From author’s point of view the noncompliance exist for the indicators of scientific personnel training and the development of science in some regions of Russia.

Teacher and student: the basics of interaction and mutual understanding in the education system

This article uses the results of the authorial research, analysing the features of the system of relations “teacher-pupil”, the problems arising during the intercommunication of teachers and children, factors influencing the communication between teachers and pupils. Teachers – pupils conflicts cause stress, which limits the teacher`s desire to communicate confidently. Frequent change of educational standards distorts children’s perception of the learning process and complicates the teachers – pupils interaction.

Typology of universities in macroregion as a structural basis of a non-linear model of development of higher education

The possibility of forming a nonlinear model of higher education in the macro-region is considered on the basis of the universities typology. The materials of the study in the Urals Federal District show how the typology of universities allows to form networks of universities that can suppot development of not only the higher education of the macroregion, but also its economy, social sphere and culture. The conditions for the transition to a nonlinear model as a way of transforming higher education in the macro-region are disclosed.

Khabarovsk student’s learning strategies in the context of their educational quality expectations

This article considers students’ learning strategies revealed and analyzed as a result of a survey conducted in April and May of 2015 in Khabarovsk city universities. The authors test the hypothesis that students with higher expectations about the quality of university education must spend more time and effort studying, or in other words, choose the most labor-intensive strategy.
