The article includes the results of the empirical research of the peculiarities of the representation of the concept of helping the other in the consciousness. Help to the other is understood as interaction with the other, which aims at 1) the relief of sufferings; 2) assistance to his development, the opening of the potential of his abilities. Six main methacategories which reflect the conceptual representation of helping the other in people’s consciousness are emphasized, among which are: interactive, emotional, cognitive, personal, behavioral, organizational components. Also eleven types of trends in the interpretation of the concept of helping the other are marked.
