Mega-university – an innovative institution of XXI century

Аннотация / Annotation:
At the turn of centuries begins a new stage in the development of higher education associated with the emergence and rapid growth of mega-universities. Social engineering of these higher educational institutions of new type is originally aimed at ensuring the quality of mass education as a prerequisite for the knowledge society in which we should live and work. It can not rely on the modernization of traditional technology of education, it should be based on a comprehensive implementation of new technology of training, new didactics of training, new material embodiments of the university. A model of innovative university of XXI century, corresponding to these principles is a distributed university which consists of a basic scientific and administrative nucleus and a network of training educational centers, united by flexible system of delivery of educational resources to the location of their customers by using modern information-communication technologies (ICT).

Basic direction of increasing quality of sociologists’ training is its orientation to development of practical skills, close cooperation between sociological faculties and employers for practical work. Market demands formation of practically oriented competences and permanent monitoring of tasks and actions of potential employers enables to overcome a break between work of sociological faculties and employers’ requirements to graduates.

Unified national exam is a significant indicator of a university competentivness. Primarily it concerns private universities, where UNE plays an important social role - it attracts applicants with comparatively low marks. Reception of a European experience gives an opportunity to provide qualitative educational services to everybody. Changes in the system of matriculation and UNE introduction allow private universities to attract more students and to provide them individual on-the-job-studying.

Analysis of the results of final examinations in Russian language and mathematics for graduates of secondary schools in 2009 is conducted. Mathematical simulation enables to estimate influence of such factors as continuity and specialization of education, teacher qualification, educational workload, a textbook, used in educational process, on examination results and compare results of graduates in urban and village schools.

Hierarchic System of Needs by A.Maslow and a Modern Educational Paradigm

Modern meaning of well-known hierarchic system of needs by A. Maslow related to development of modern educational concept is considered. It is shown that research of a hierarchy of needs, where a leading role plays a self-identification need, is based on analysis of inversion connections inside this hierarchic system. Maslow’s ideas of difference of motives and growth motives are good correlated to the concept of developing competence approach to education as contrasted to a knowledge approach.
