With carried out assessment becomes possible to gain general picture of institution competitiveness in common, to plan marketing and publicity events, media planning.

Crisis in education and ways of its overcoming are analyzed. Transition period places pedagogy in a complex situation, where it is impossible to understand who the school should teach, and what are the ideals of an educated person, and its is followed by complexity of determination of goals and contents of education. New tendencies in development of contents and forms of education (reflection of contents, development of conditions for creativity, etc.) are considered. Pedagogic experience based on these tendencies and principles is described.

Analysis of organization culture of universities (educational institutions in Bryansk as an example) is conducted. There are two levels, a functional level (character of management) and an element level (a degree of risk). Four main types of organizational culture of universities: unsustainable culture, which includes educational institutions inside large higher educational institutions; a culture focused on sustainable status, which exists in agricultural and special production universities; an active search culture, which exists in branches of state universities in regions; and a culture focused on self-development, which is typical one for innovative higher educational institutions.
