The article discusses the inclusion of Russian universities in international rankings universities and analyzed his performance for the national education. Stands out such as provocation when drafting international rankings of universities, and also with the inclusion of domestic universities in the rating race. Analyzed the obvious advantages and disadvantages in promoting Russian universities in the global University rankings for Russian education.

The article discusses an educational aspect of social discrimination in the German Empire. At the example of problems in education for girls, peasants and Jewish schoolchildren are characterized social discrimination display and overcoming measures. There is justification of the idea that those problems in the German culture are explained historically and that their absolute overcome is fundamentally impossible.

Considered one of the most important problems of the philosophy of education – the ratio of monism and pluralism in pedagogical process. Substantialness of modern education is perceived in the cultural context. The substantial approach in education is analyzed in historical perspective: from the mythological to the formal monism and pluralism to the theoretical substantiality. Recovered the assumption that nationalist lossing substantial in education inevitably leads to reductionism, as the pedagogical culture is reduced to just one of the modes. Modern monistic approach to training and education due to poliforum variety of traditions.

The article considers the possibility of progressive development of a society in the terms of transformation, in particular, is determined by the ability of the educational community to social cohesion, to focus efforts on overcoming the challenges of the unstable period of social development. The causes of conflict of the educational community with the existing assessment of its social significance in the modern period, which could lead to protest, and the possibilities of its repayment. In order to clarify the conceptual apparatus the author gives the authors definitions of «the educational community» and «the consolidation potential of the educational community»; makes the analysis of the structure of the consolidation potential of the educational community; identifies factors of actualization and deactualization of its potential. The article discusses the positions of the leading Russian and foreign sociologists, the data of sociological research.
